Google Doodle celebrates equestrian events at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games today

Google Doodle today: The tech giant has unveiled a special doodle to honor the para-athletes competing in the equestrian event at the Paris 2024 Paralympics today. The animated doodle shows a small bird wearing a helmet, riding a horse, while a chicken acts as a referee for the competition.

“Galloping for gold! Time to saddle up for the Para Equestrian events at the Château de Versailles,” Google added in its description. Unlike the Olympics, which have three equestrian disciplines, the Para Games have just one, dressage. Both rider and horse are judged in this event.

According to the official website Olympics.com, equestrian events are judged based on the accuracy and quality of riding, the artistic finesse, and the horse’s gaits and halts.

Although Para-dressage started as a leisure activity, the first competitions were not held until the 1970s.
