Frances Tiafoe, in his second Grand Slam semi-final, wins the first set 6-4 against fellow American Taylor Fritz.

Tiafoe started the match tensely, losing the first three games. However, he came back and won five of the next six games, giving him an early lead.

One of the questions I had before the match was Tiafoe’s serve. He has been starting matches slowly with his serve, which he can’t afford to do this late in the tournament. After getting broken in his first service game, Tiafoe served well, winning 63 percent and 80 percent of his first serve points.

Fritz needs to improve his service in this match. He serves at 53 percent and wins only 67 percent of his first service points.

Tiafoe gets the crowd excited, a good start for someone who has lost the previous six matches against Fritz.
