Nightly closures of I-15 on September 8 and 9 due to the Tropicana widening project

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Expect more road closures on I-15 this coming Sunday, September 8, and Monday, September 9, as NDOT continues its I-15 Tropicana Project, which will widen the Tropicana interchange for better access to the Las Vegas Strip and more areas along the freeway.

What’s closing?

Sunday September 8 from 9:00 PM – 5:00 AM

Northbound I-15 is closed from Russell Road to Tropicana Avenue.

These ramps are closed:

  • Russell Road ramp to I-15 northbound
  • I-15 North Exit to Tropicana Avenue (Already Closed)
  • I-15 northbound ramp to Frank Sinatra Drive/Arena Drive (already closed)

Monday September 9 from 9:00 PM – 5:00 AM

Southbound I-15 is closed from Flamingo Road to Russell Road.

These ramps are closed:

  • Flamingo Road ramp to I-15 southbound
  • Harmon Avenue ramp to I-15 southbound
  • I-15 southbound exit to Tropicana Avenue eastbound and westbound
  • I-15 southbound flyover ramp to Tropicana Avenue eastbound (already closed)
  • I-15 south exit to Russell Road

Why are the roads closed?

According to NDOT, these road closures are necessary so that construction workers can pour concrete to form the bridge decks.
