Aug. 30 (UPI) — Friday’s Paralympic-themed Google Doodle celebrates the sport of wheelchair basketball.

Set in the streets of Paris, the animation shows a bird in a wheelchair shooting a basketball into a trash can, while another bird jumps out of the bin in surprise.

“The International Wheelchair Basketball Federation and Paris 2024 have announced the schedule for wheelchair basketball competitions at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, which will take place from 29 August to 8 September,” the International Paralympic Committee’s website said.

“The competitions will be held at the Bercy Arena, located in the heart of Paris. Eight national men’s and eight national women’s teams will compete for the coveted Paralympic medals.”
