What happened: The new bus takes three to eight hours to fully charge and can transport 84 students.

The school district, which operates 373 schools and serves more than 300,000 students, made the purchase of the new vehicle using the $9.875 million grant it received from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Clean School Bus Program for the purchase of electric school buses.
