FSU fans flock to Doak Campbell Stadium as Seminoles prepare for first regular season game

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – College Town is a sea of garnet and gold as Florida State students and alumni prepare for Monday night’s game between the Noles and Boston College.

The game will mark the first regular season game with rearranged seating since renovations to Doak Campbell Stadium began last year. The renovations added multiple seating options, concessions and renovated restrooms.

More news from Tallahassee:

There are now 70,000 temporary seats on the west side of the stadium, which will be under construction throughout the season.

The renovations certainly don’t dampen the enthusiasm of fans, such as FSU alumna Liz Tauer and her family who traveled from Orlando to watch the game.

“I’m looking forward to the first game of the season with my kids,” Tauer said.

One of her children added, “I can’t wait to see the renegade and the cheerleaders!”

For anyone attending the game, we would like to remind you that the clear bag policy remains in effect. Tinted plastic bags, backpacks and diaper bags are not permitted.

Kick-off is tonight at 7:30 PM.
