Delta Airlines removes passenger from flight over ‘Hawk Tuah’ Trump t-shirt

A passenger was removed from a Delta Airlines flight for wearing a T-shirt featuring former US President Donald Trump giving a finger and a reference to the “hawk tuah” girl video, a report from New York Post.

The incident occurred Saturday morning at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport.

The male passenger was wearing a black T-shirt featuring Donald Trump wearing American flag-colored sunglasses and holding up two middle fingers.

“Hawk tuah spit on that thang,” the T-shirt reads, referring to the R-rated video.

“I’m getting kicked out because of my shirt,” the man said as he walked down the aisle with his luggage, according to the report, which references a post in the Reddit group r/delta.

“And this is her report – stupid-*** Wendy,” he added after reading the nameplate of the female aircraft that escorted him away.

According to the report, before boarding the Delta flight, the passenger was asked by an airline employee to change his shirt or face being removed from the plane after someone complained.

Then he turned the T-shirt inside out and boarded the entire plane.

“The next thing I know, just before takeoff, a Delta employee comes on board and escorts him off the plane. He had turned his shirt back to the side with the decals,” the report said, cited by the Reddit post.

Airlines are allowed to remove passengers from their flights if they deem it necessary.

“at Delta’s sole discretion for the comfort or safety of the passenger, for the comfort or safety of other passengers or Delta employees, or to prevent damage to the property of Delta or its passengers or employees,” according to Delta Airlines’ contract of carriage.

A passenger may be removed if his/her “conduct, dress, hygiene or odor creates an unreasonable risk of offense or annoyance to other passengers,” among other behaviors and circumstances.
