Patrick Mahomes Says Taylor Swift Is ‘Play Prep’ to Help Chiefs

Taylor Swift wants the Kansas City Chiefs to keep winning and has apparently taken matters into her own hands to make that happen.

According to Patrick Mahomes, the team’s star quarterback, the singer is now mainly focused on coming up with plays for the team.

Speaking to NBC ahead of the new NFL season, Mahomes praised Swift for her involvement and interest in the NFL since she began dating his teammate, tight end Travis Kelce.

She’s “the most famous person in the world,” Mahomes said, adding that “she’s very interested in football.”

“She asks a lot of good questions,” he continued. “She’s already thinking up plays, so maybe we should bring one in.”

The Chiefs, who won their fourth Super Bowl earlier this year, open the new season on September 5 against the Baltimore Ravens.

It has not yet been confirmed whether the Grammy Award-winning musician will be at Arrowhead Stadium to support Kelce on the big day.

A representative for Swift did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider, which was sent outside regular business hours.

Mahomes then praised the pop star for the role she has played in promoting the NFL to young girls and women.

“I love seeing the girls and women who really embrace football,” said the three-time Super Bowl MVP.

“I know as a father of a girl how amazing it is for me to see these little girls and daughters and how much they enjoy spending time with their dad and watching football,” Mahomes said.

Swift has attended and cheered on the Kansas City Chiefs at multiple games since she started dating Kelce last year, and some have playfully pointed out Kelce’s improved performance on the field while Swift looks on.

“I’m just there to support Travis,” Swift told Time in a rare interview last year. “I have no idea if I’m going to be out there too much and piss off a few dads and Brads and Chads.”
