During the offseason, the biggest story on the field regarding the Colorado American football team was the overhaul of the offensive line.

Last year the squad struggled and all five regular starters left, as one graduated and four transferred.

The Buffaloes debuted their new line in Thursday’s 31-26 season opener against North Dakota State, with mixed results.

On the bright side, quarterback Shedeur Sanders was sacked just once all night. Sanders was the quarterback with the most sacks in the country last year (52), and has been sacked at least three times in every game he plays in 2023.

Sanders took some of NDSU’s shots in the first half, but his father and CU head coach Deion Sanders focused more on the limited sacks on a night when Shedeur completed 26 of 34 passes for 445 yards and four touchdowns.
