Law enforcement officials are outraged after Colorado’s Democratic Governor Jared Polis called migrant gang violence at apartment complexes in Aurora “misinformation.”

Arapahoe County, Colorado, District Attorney John Kellner spoke to Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom” on Friday about the ongoing police crackdown on gangs of immigrant criminals who have been terrorizing apartments. The crackdown has been caught on camera.

“I can tell you that we aggressively prosecute every case that comes to our office,” Kellner told Fox News. “We have a multi-agency task force that is investigating these crimes as we speak. And when we see a gang that is trying to infiltrate or gain a foothold in our community, we will pursue them vigorously.”

According to Kellner, there are multiple cases of trespassing, burglary and theft pending, and police and law enforcement are now focused on eradicating the gangs before the problem gets worse.

In a recent viral video, several armed men are seen in an apartment in Aurora, Colorado. Some believe the apartment has been taken over by members of Tren de Aragua, a notorious Venezuelan gang.

“I’ve heard criticism from people saying things like, ‘This is imaginary,'” Kellner continued. “I can tell you that the people in this apartment building, the people of Aura, it’s not imaginary.

COLORADO MAYOR SPEAKS OUT AFTER VIDEO OF VENEZUELAN ARMED GANG IN APARTMENT GOES VIRAL: ‘FAILED POLICY’

“This is a real example of how cities across the country that are extremely far from our border are dealing with the consequences of failed border policies.”

The prosecutor pointed to previous initiatives to combat members of the Mexican gang MS-13, who were trying to gain a foothold in the city.

“We’ve indicted over a dozen members of that gang, prosecuted them for multiple murders, multiple shootings, violent crimes, and some of them will look back on their life choices in prison for decades to come and regret it,” Kellner said. “And some of them will spend the rest of their lives in prison in Colorado.”

Polis has largely denied claims that gangs are a major problem in Aurora, with a spokesman calling such concerns “misinformation.”

Shelby Wieman, a spokeswoman for the governor’s office, previously told Fox News Digital: “(Governor Polis) hopes the city council members in charge will stop destroying their own city when they should be keeping it safe.

“We know that violent crime in Aurora declined between 2022 and 2023. We expect the data to show further declines through 2024. And the recent disinformation campaign threatens actual criminal investigations and could harm the small business climate in Aurora,” Wieman said.

“I absolutely disagree with the governor’s comments on this. This is not ‘misinformation,'” Kellner told Fox News. “Right now, there is an ongoing investigation into a massive shooting that happened outside of one of these apartment complexes, and one man ended up dead. This is not misinformation. These are real issues.”

According to a report from the New York Post, there are more than 40,000 migrants in the Denver area since December 2022.

“The situation is real, but it also needs to be put into context so that the reputation of an entire city of over 400,000 residents is not damaged by what happened in several isolated apartment buildings owned by the same out-of-state slumlord,” Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman said in an earlier statement to Fox News Digital.
