Here’s our rundown of the Top 5 TV college games Saturday | LSU

Here are the five best games to watch during the first full weekend of the college football season, led by Saturday’s two Top 25 games.

All matches on Saturday

No. 14 CLEMSON vs. No. 1 GEORGIA

11:00 am • ABC

Playing in Atlanta isn’t really an away game for Georgia, but this matchup against a ranked team will help the Bulldogs prepare for a brutal SEC road showdown. They’ll have to go to No. 5 Alabama, No. 4 Texas and No. 6 Ole Miss — all in a six-game series midway through the season. So, this is huge.

No. 7 NOTRE DAME @ No. 20 TEXAS A&M

6:30 PM • ABC

The Jimbo Fisher era is thankfully over after a disappointing 45-25 mark in six seasons. New coach Mike Elko has a real challenge in his return to Aggieland (he was defensive coordinator from 2018-21) to lead a program that has had exactly one double-digit win season in the past 25 years.

No. 19 MIAMI @ FLORIDA

2:30 PM • ABC

This one feels like a must-win game for Billy Napier. The recruiting implications in the talent-rich Sunshine State alone are enormous for a Florida program that has suffered three consecutive losing seasons for the first time since 1946-48 (the last two under Napier’s watch). A brutal schedule awaits, so a win here would certainly help.

No. 8 PENN STATE @ WEST VIRGINIA

11:00 am • Fox

With Penn State looking to take the next step toward a CFP berth, West Virginia is looking to blow things up after a strong finish in 2023. This isn’t exactly the “Backyard Brawl” the Mountaineers’ matchup with rival Pitt, but it could set banks on fire in the streets (their way of celebrating big wins) if they pull off the upset.

WESTERN KENTUCKY @ #5 ALABAMA

6:00 p.m. • ESPN

For the first time since 2007, Nick Saban won’t be hanging around the home team at Bryant-Denny Stadium after retiring in January. But he was kind enough to give successor Kalen DeBoer a housewarming gift to kick off his tenure in Tuscaloosa — an expectedly lopsided matchup featuring a 31½-point underdog.
