RALEIGH, NC – Another exciting year of NC State Football gets underway as the Wolfpack open their 2024 campaign against Western Carolina on August 29and at 7:00 p.m. from Carter Finley Stadium.

The Wolfpack will look to remain perfect against the Catamounts, as they enter the game 7-0 all-time. This will be the fifth time that the game against WCU will be the Wolfpack’s season opener. In the series, NC State has averaged 47 points per game, compared to just 9.1 for WCU. The Pack has shut out the Catamounts twice, including the last meeting in 2019.

Wolfpack Notes

• NC State enters the 2024 season as one of five programs in the Power 4 to have won eight or more games in each of the last four seasons.

• Head coach Dave Doeren is entering his 12th season at NC State, making it the sixth-longest tenure among current FBS coaches.

• The Wolfpack has sold out 14 straight games (including the season opener against Western Carolina) — the longest sellout streak in school history. LaTech and Northern Illinois have also sold out, bringing that streak to 16 straight.

• Ten Wolfpack players are on the pre-season watchlist for 15 national awards.

• QB Grayson McCall has thrown 88 career touchdowns with just 14 interceptions. He has also run for 18 scores.

• All of the Wolfpack’s position coaches returned for the 2024 season, with the defensive staff now entering its fifth season together.

• Four players from the Wolfpack offense who are playing their first game for the Wolfpack against Western Carolina have all played in return for NC State in their careers.

• Over the past three seasons, no other P4 school has intercepted more passes than the Wolfpack. NC State has thrown 51 interceptions in the 2021, ’22 and ’23 seasons combined, three more than any other P4 school and the second-best mark in the entire FBS (WKU had 55).

• NC State has won 23 of its last 27 games at Carter-Finley Stadium.
