Tulane University is one of more than 60 colleges that have entered into a new partnership with Grubhub Campus Fooda higher education-focused component of the meal delivery app that serves students and integrates mobile ordering directly into campus meal plans.

Thanks to Grubhub’s partnership with Tulane University, students can now use their meal credits and dining plans on Grubhub, giving them more options and access to Grubhub’s network of merchants, on-campus dining options, and local restaurants.

Students can use their campus dining dollars directly through the Grubhub app, with delivery and pickup options; students can order meals from their mobile devices; and students have access to promo codes, giveaways, and other rewards. Students are also eligible for free Grubhub+, which means unlimited $0 delivery fees, reduced service fees, and 5% back on pickup orders.

Grubhub now works with more than 360 universities, up 21 percent from last year, reaching more than 4 million students. The company has launched robot deliveries at 20 campuses across the country, including the University of Mississippi, University of Houston, Ohio State, Notre Dame, University of Arizona and Prairie View A&M, with plans to expand the robot delivery program in the coming years.

In addition to robo-delivery, Grubhub has rolled out Amazon’s “Just Walk Out” technology to several campuses, including the University of Virginia and Loyola University Maryland. The technology allows users to shop at on-campus convenience stores, skip the checkout line, walk out, and have their payment automatically deducted from their meal plan, declining balance, or other connected Grubhub payment methods.

“After a strong 2023-2024 school year, I’m very proud that we continue to significantly expand our campus footprint and that our additional services and solutions are being so strongly adopted by our partners,” said Rob DelaCruz, vice president and general manager of Grubhub Campus. “We see even more opportunity on campus and are proud to play a role in changing the way students and faculty dine. Our technology enables our partners to run their dining operations more efficiently by giving them the ability to move guests through lines faster and offer a wide range of pickup and delivery innovations.”

Grubhub is part of Just Eat Takeaway.com (LSE: JET, AMS: TKWY). Grubhub has 375,000 merchants in more than 4,000 U.S. cities and reports revenue of approximately $2.1 billion.
