    The Connecticut Sun hope to continue playing well in the competition and dominate the Indiana Fever, as they look for their 11th straight win in this head-to-head match on Wednesday night.

    However, my Sun vs. Fever predictions and the WNBA predictions for August 28th are that Indiana will have to put up a fight tonight, as the host has looked like a completely different team since the Olympic break.

    My analysis
    The Connecticut Sun have the league’s best defense, limiting teams to 73.4 points per game. Through three games, the Indiana Fever have been limited to 75.7 points per game.

    However, a lot has happened since June 10, the last time these two teams met.

    The Fever have been one of the better teams in the league since then, posting an 11-6 record and sitting at seventh overall. They are coming off an 84-79 win over the Atlanta Dream to move to 14-16 on the season — their most in the last five seasons — with 10 games remaining.

    Indiana is scoring at an elite level during this stretch, averaging 86.6 ppg on 47% shooting. Even if Connecticut can keep the score low, Indiana should be able to score the ball and shoot at a high percentage.

    This game is a possible preview of the first round of the playoffs. The Fever are playing some of the best basketball of the year and the underdogs will scare the living daylights out of the visitors.

    My analysis
    Clark has struggled with the Sun, underscoring her points total in all three games and making just 38.2% of her shots.

    Since the Olympic break, however, the favorite to take home the WNBA Rookie of the Year award has been scorching, putting up 23.5 ppg on a much more efficient 46.2% shooting percentage. She has failed to score 21 points just once in that streak.

    Clark’s scoring ability has improved as the rest of her all-around game has evolved. She leads the W in assists with 8.2 per game, and Clark’s 3-point shooting has kept defenses on their toes, with multiple triples in nine straight and 15 of the last 16.

    DeWanna Bonner Less than 1.5 three-pointers

    Kelsey Mitchell More than 16.5 points

    DeWanna Bonner is the Sun’s leading scorer, but she has struggled of late, scoring 15 points or fewer in four straight games. Most notably, she has made just one 3-pointer in 16 attempts during that span. While she scored well against the Fever, Bonner has not fared well from distance, topping her 1.5 make line once at a 28.6% clip.

    Kelsey Mitchell, on the other hand, has been a top performer since the Olympic break.

    She is averaging 26.5 points per game, with 21-plus points in all four games she has played in. While she has put them up against undersized defenses like Atlanta and Phoenix, Mitchell has also scored 21 points against Minnesota and 27 against Seattle — two of the top three teams in the WNBA.
