(Reuters) – Social media platform Reddit said on Wednesday it was investigating an outage that affected thousands of users in the U.S.

Reddit is known for its forums, or “subreddits”, where communities discuss various topics. It relies primarily on advertising for its revenue.

Downdetector, which tracks outages by collecting status reports from various sources including users, collected more than 152,982 outage reports in the U.S. as of 4:09 p.m. ET.
