Keegan Bradley was the final man to reach the field at this weekend’s BMW Championship, finishing as No. 1.

Bradley won at Castle Pines after shooting a par 72 on Sunday to finish 12 under par for the tournament, beating Sam Burns, Ludvig Åberg and Adam Scott by one stroke.

“Man, I was shaking on that last putt, I was ready for those cheers,” Bradley said after winning the tournament on the 18th. “We did it. It was a battle all day.”

After the win, Bradley received a lot of praise on social media:

When he plays at his best, he has proven that he can beat the best players.

Great finish today at the BMW and I couldn’t be happier with @Keegan_Bradley our newly appointed @RyderCupUSA Captain. Super 65 for @Samburns66 and his position at East Lake Im gives him an opportunity.

@Keegan_Bradley Great victory!!! Jupiter is proud!
Get them next week, Capitan!

It’s been a special year for Bradley, to say the least. At 38, he was named the youngest Ryder Cup team captain since the legendary Arnold Palmer in 1968. He also just became the first Ryder Cup captain to win on the PGA Tour since Davis Love III accomplished the feat at the 2015 Wyndham Championship at age 51. Sunday’s victory propelled him all the way to No. 11 in the world rankings.

“To be named Ryder Cup captain and still be a full-time player is strange,” he told reporters on Saturday. “I don’t know anyone who knows how to handle this situation, so I’m doing the best I can. The only thing I can do is keep playing my best golf and maybe play my way onto one of these teams.”
