Notting Hill Carnival is ‘ultimate example of two-tier policing’, says former inspector – David Icke

According to a former Scotland Yard inspector, the Notting Hill Carnival is the ‘ultimate example of dual policing’.

Around 7,000 officers from the Metropolitan Police will be on hand this weekend for the annual two-day event, with more than a million people expected to gather on Notting Hill.

Last year during the carnival, 275 people were arrested for various offences, including eight people being stabbed and around 80 police officers being assaulted.

However, Mike Neville, a retired Scotland Yard chief inspector, claims officers are reluctant to arrest people for fear of being called racist.

Notting Hill Carnival is a celebration of Afro-Caribbean culture and has grown into Europe’s largest street party since its inception in 1966.

Mr Neville called the carnival “the ultimate example of dual policing” and said: “If the behaviour of Notting Hill Carnival was repeated at football matches or other events it would be banned.”

He added: “You see people openly smoking drugs, abusing police officers, dancing with female officers to the point of sexual assault. I challenge anyone to do the same on the way to a Millwall football match.”
