Brooklyn police are searching for a thug who rode a Citi Bike and beat and robbed a man earlier this month.

The NYPD released video footage Friday evening of the suspect responsible for the incident that occurred at 10:35 p.m. on Aug. 18 near the corner of Metropolitan and Manhattan Avenues in Williamsburg.

According to police sources, the cyclist drove up to the victim, a 26-year-old man, and then hit him on the right side of the head, knocking him unconscious.

Seconds later, the suspect took the victim’s wallet and money and then cycled south on Manhattan Avenue.

The victim regained consciousness and reported the incident to the 90th districtHe suffered facial injuries and was treated at Bellevue Hospital.

The number of robberies in the 90th Precinct is up slightly so far this year. According to the most recent CompStat report, police have counted 120 robberies through Aug. 18, one more than the number reported at the same time in 2023.

As seen in the video, the perpetrator was riding a Citi Bike and wearing a black baseball cap, a black t-shirt with white text on the back, gray pants, and white sneakers.
