MUMBAI: A 17-year-old girl was reportedly raped by two men in their twenties in the Vasai region, on Thu. The Police to have arrested the two Gentlemen under sections of POCSO.
The girl, a class 12 student and resident of Mumbai, used to visit her friend’s house in Vasai area. She had come in contact with a 25-year-old man who worked in a nearby photo studio. They exchanged phone numbers last week and started talking. On Thursday, the accused called her on her mobile phone and asked her to meet him at a designated place in the area. When she reached there, the man told her that they were going for a walk. He was accompanied by his friend, whom she had never met before.
They got into a rickshaw and reached a remote place.
In her complaint to the police, she stated that after she got out of the car, they forced her to walk to a secluded spot where they took turns raping her. The men put her back in the autorickshaw and dropped her off at the railway station before warning her not to talk about the abuse. The girl went home and confided in her parents, who contacted the police. The girl told the police that her friend was unaware of her visit and meeting with the man.
The victim’s identity has not been released to protect her privacy, in line with Supreme Court guidelines in sexual abuse cases.
