Long Legs is another film that underperforms compared to its hyped and misleading trailer. I went into this film with high expectations, but those expectations slowly faded.

The first 45 minutes are a great slow film. The images and shots are great, the atmosphere is ominous, the sounds and music are great and you can feel the tension in the room. But the next 30 minutes it all gets a bit boring and your heart rate slowly returns to normal.

The idea of ​​the movie is quite original I must say, but the second half of the movie is where it misses its mark. Everyone starts to wonder what the point of everything that is happening is, and to finally answer that question the movie literally tells you exactly what happened in the first half of the movie with the murders and satanism. I can think of a hundred different and better ways they could have shown us what happened instead of literally telling us word for word.

And finally the ending, although entertaining it is also very abrupt and do you think all that slow burn is necessary for that? It lost all tension after the scene where the writers of the film literally explain in a narrative style what is happening.

Long Legs had a lot of potential, but missed the mark. The film is definitely worth watching. It’s not bad, but it definitely doesn’t live up to the trailer or the hyped premise.
