The Shiba Inu ecosystem has taken a major step forward with the launch of a closed beta for Shiba Eternity, the first game built on the Shibarium blockchain. Shiba Inu’s head of marketing, Lucie, detailed the game’s release schedule and features in a comprehensive announcement at X today, marking a pivotal moment in the popular meme coin’s transition to a more usability-based ecosystem.

Shiba Inu Gets Its First Shibarium-Based Game

Lucie’s announcement describes a complete overhaul of the previous version of the game. “Attention Leash Stakers! The closed beta for Shiba Eternity is live. This isn’t just the old game with a few updates, this is a complete shift to Web3 with significant upgrades,” Lucie revealed.

The game is now running on the Shibarium mainnet, which supports non-fungible tokens (NFTs). This integration allows for a decentralized gaming experience, with player inventory cards represented as NFTs, ensuring verifiable ownership and tradability within the ecosystem.

The game’s core architecture is now based on the Shibarium blockchain. This shift allows for a seamless and secure gaming experience, using blockchain technology for asset management and in-game transactions.
Additionally, Shiba Eternity introduces a competitive ranked mode, where players participate in 15-day tournaments.

Rankings in these tournaments are determined by player performance, with rewards distributed based on their final ranking. Exclusive tournaments are available to the top 25 players from ranked mode, with seasonal events offering unique rewards.

Notably, the game has seen significant improvements overall, including an updated tutorial, a polished menu interface, streamlined weapon management, and smoother overall performance. The new rewards system offers improved quests, faster progression through the game, and special welcome gifts for players migrating from Web2 versions of the game.

Release Schedule

The first access to the Shiba Eternity closed beta was granted today, August 21st, exclusively to those who have staked LEASH tokens. These participants can connect their smart wallets via ShibaSwap to participate in the game. This early access phase is crucial for gathering user feedback and ensuring stability before the broader release.

After that, access will be expanded to holders of specific NFTs within the Shiba Inu ecosystem, namely The Shiboshis and The Shiba Eternity Lore collections, on September 5th. An open beta release has not yet been announced. “No LEASH or NFTs? No worries! Open beta is underway, so everyone will have a chance to enter the Dogjo,” Lucie said.

Lucie also issued a security warning, stressing the importance of being vigilant against scams: “Beware of scams! Only connect your wallet through official platforms. Never click on links from unknown sources, press X or elsewhere. Always manually enter the official website address and double-check it before connecting your wallet.”
