A golf club without a course – News

With vast tracts of land so precious and expensive, creating a new course—or even maintaining an existing one—can be completely out of reach. And for golfers, playing 18 holes on foot or in a cart can be time-consuming. Enter Tomorrow’s Golf League (TGL), a virtual game played indoors. Players drive into a giant interactive screen, but chip and putt on a real fairway and green. Launching on ESPN in January 2025, TGL is predicted to be a more accessible version of the age-old game. At the time of writing, there are six clubs in the United States, including Atlanta, Boston, Jupiter (FL), Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York.

Landor has created a new identity for New York Golf Club. Luke Melloy and his team used the New York State bird, the Eastern Bluebird, as their identity mascot. The stripes on the bird’s wing represent the grooves on the front of a golf club and represent the four players on each team. In the logo, the bird sits within a circle, a common scorecard notation that symbolizes a birdie, the coveted one-under-par score.
