Women’s tennis adds Paula Cabrer to 2024 squad

CONWAY, SC – Coastal Carolina Women’s Tennis Head Coach Catherine Hewitt announced the signing of a transfer junior Paula Cabrer on Tuesday afternoon.

Cabrer is one of three new additions for the 2024 season. She will be joined by first-years Sarah Clark And Brunelle Kouam who signed their names on National Signing Day in November.

The Palma de Mallorca, Spain-born tennis player moves to the beach after a two-year stint at Hillsborough Community College, where she compiled a 30-10 record in singles and 21-11 in doubles.

Cabrer had a highly successful career at Hillsborough Community College, where she won the 2023 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I National Championship and reached the finals in 2024. She also won the 2024 NJCAA Regional Championship and was named to the NJCAA Division I All-America singles first team in 2023.

This transfer put her in the ITA NJCAA national rankings, where she reached 16th place in singles and 5th place in doubles in her sophomore year.

“We are thrilled to welcome Paula to the Chanticleer family,” Hewitt said. “She brings a wealth of experience from junior college, where she won a national championship.”
