In a recent interview, WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg revealed that he wrestled for six years with a torn rotator cuff.

At WWE Survivor Series 2016, Bill Goldberg made his first return to the company in 12 years to face Brock Lesnar.

Goldberg won in a surprisingly close main event match against Lesnar, but it appears he suffered an injury during the match.

Speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Goldberg revealed that he tore his rotator cuff during his Survivor Series return match against Brock Lesnar. He said:

“If you look back and you’re just strategic about what you’re looking at, there was a point in my run where I started spearing guys with my left shoulder.”

“Why do you think that happened? Because I tore my rotator cuff the first night I went back with Brock, and I didn’t tell anyone, and I worked around it the whole time. Certain situations I could work around, and certain moments I couldn’t (Jackhammer on the Fiend).”

“In pain, that’s an understatement. I couldn’t lift my arm for five or six years, but still, it’s one of those things I’d rather keep to myself because if I had said something, God forbid I’d have surgery and Vince would need me.”

“Or if I have surgery without telling anyone, I’m lucky that two weeks after surgery he calls and wants me to wrestle, so I just stuck with it.”

Following Survivor Series 2016, Goldberg won the WWE Universal Championship and had several high profile matches against the likes of Drew McIntyre, The Undertaker and Bobby Lashley.

His last WWE match was against Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber in February 2022.
