Saskatchewan Rush Press Release

SASKATOON, SK – The Saskatchewan Rush have signed defenceman Jerrett Smith to a one-year contract.

Smith, who is entering his third National Lacrosse League season, has 36 games to his credit. Since the start of the 22-23 season, the Winnipeg product has 30 points, 136 loose balls and 17 caused turnovers.

“When we look at players in transition, there are certain traits that we like. Jerrett has all of them and this past season he has become a player that we can rely on in most situations! We think his ceiling is very high. He’s working hard at it, so that ceiling will be reached very quickly,” GM Derek Keenan said.

The 6-foot-1 right-hander has scored six goals and nine assists for Nanaimo in the Western Lacrosse Association this summer.

After the latest signing, the Saskatchewan Rush still have Mike Messenger (franchise), Jake Boudreau, Isaac Ngyou, Mike Mallory and Cam Wengreniuk unsigned to the 23/24 roster.
