Rohit Sharma’s rant, Rahul Dravid moves to Economy Class: Inside the story of India’s Barbados-Delhi flight

It’s been over a month since India won the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup. The 11-year wait for the ICC trophy ended after the Men in Blue defeated South Africa in the final, but the team was stranded in Barbados for three days due to Cyclone Beryl. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah arranged a special flight for the team and media personnel to return home.

Flight AIC24WC brought the heroes home. The players and support staff enjoyed their 16-hour flight. A Star Sports producer, who travelled with the team, revealed interesting details of the events.

“I don’t think anyone slept for more than six hours. Players met the media members. Star Sports engineers were also part of the flight. Rahul Dravid left his seat in the business class and came to the economy class to sleep,” the producer said, as quoted by Hindustan Times.

“I heard Rohit Sharma calling someone names, but in a light-hearted way. Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant were having a discussion with the media. There was a lot of talking.”

Fans welcomed the Indian team and even visited the Prime Minister’s house for a special breakfast in Delhi. A parade was organised for the players in Mumbai and an event was held at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
