Ashley Callingbull is the first Indigenous woman to be crowned Miss Universe Canada.

The 34-year-old model, actress and TV presenter, originally from the Cree community of Enoch, Alberta, was crowned on Saturday in Windsor, Ontario.

M^me Callingbull currently hosts the National Hockey League, Canadian Football League and National Lacrosse League.

She played the lead role in the series Black stone And tribeaired on APTN, and has also received awards and recognition for his social work and activism.

M^me Callingbull had already broken barriers when she became the first Canadian and Indigenous person to win the title of M^me Universe, reserved for married women, and the first indigenous woman to appear as a model for Sports Illustrated until 2022.

In November she will compete in Mexico for the title of Miss Universe.

“This is the most surreal feeling. I’ve been chasing this dream for years and I’m still in awe that it actually came true,” M posted.^me Callingbull on social media.
