Manchester – UFC welterweight Sam Patterson secured a relatively quick submission win over Kiefer Crosbie at UFC 304, but the 28-year-old had some motivation ahead of the bout.

“The worst thing you can do to me is shit on me,” Patterson told reporters, including Cageside Press, during his post-game scrum.

“I’m nothing but respectful. If you trash me, I’ll make you pay, and that’s what he did. I’m not gonna lie when they said 100k (bonus) I thought about running out there and hitting him in the face with both feet and hoping… the worst would get worse, then I would’ve just pulled guard.”

“I definitely want another one. I want three fights this year. A dream of mine is to fight in Vegas again. I fought in Vegas on the Contender Series. It would be nice to go back there and do it officially in the UFC. This is my third PPV now, so put me on the PPV at the end of the year. Let me open the card, that would be really great,” he said.

“Honestly, I’ve never looked at anyone in the welterweight division. I’m so focused on myself. I’m earning my stripes in the UFC. I’m not in this position to challenge people. I think you don’t do that until you’re in the top 15. I’m just trying to get my foot in the door and prove myself.”
